At 28 Hausbaeker (or Hausbaker) Weg residential street (near latitude 53:07:40 North (53.1277 North), longitude 8:11:10 East (8.1862 East); in Eversten neighborhood, Oldenburg town, Niedersachsen state, Germany 26131), there is an apartment building. The building has a wing that goes to Comeniusweg street. One side of the wing faces a lake.
There is an apartment on about the third floor from the top of the building, on the lake side of the Comeniusweg wing, near the Comeniusweg end of the Comeniusweg wing. In or near that apartment, there was a man who seems to have been a police officer or collaborator. He was not necessarily the boor who was on the second floor from the top. Neither of them is necessarily the mischief-maker with a red laser beam on one of the top floors of that wing late at night a few years ago (about the second window from the end of the wing far from the rest of the building). A person in that building had knowledge, derived from bugging our premises, of many events and sounds (for example, conversations) there. This does not mean that that person bugged. It is not wrong to be a police officer or to collaborate. None of those people are necessarily the criminals who tap our phones, bug our premises, and do other crimes although some of them are suspicious. It seems unlikely that one person is doing it all.
The following generalization applies to red laser beams (which we happen to have laboratory experience with). Red laser beams sometimes are emitted by a rifle's aiming scope (to put a red dot where the bullet will hit, useful when hunting in darkness) and by a lecturer's pointer (to put a red dot where the audience should look during a lecture in a dark room). We guess that there was no lecture or preparation for shooting. Lasers can be used to bug premises by measuring vibration of windows and other objects. We guess that our premises are bugged conventionally, not by laser. We don't know why the laser beam was used.
Laser pointers are criminally used to try to harass pilots at night. See, for example, "Pilots report surge in laser pointer attacks during landings" (9 Oct 2009, thelocal.de Web site):
Pilots have been reporting an increasing number of potentially deadly attacks on commercial jets with laser pointers during night landings at major German airports. According Germany's DFS air traffic authority, reports of laser pointer incidents in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Saarbruecken have spiked in recent weeks. One particular incident where a laser pointer caused a "disturbance" is under investigation by the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accidents Investigation (BFU), the organisation reported. "It's like a lightning strike," pilots' union cockpit spokesperson Joerg Handwerg said, explaining that, at nighttime, pupils are dilated, and a sudden flash of targeted light can be [briefly] blinding and [therefore] deadly [because the pilot is flying at the time].The article does not mention whether the phenomenon (laser pointer attacks on commercial jet landings at night) has happened outside Germany.

The gate is in a fence made of plain, brown, woven wood. The adjacent sidewalk has a curb cut-out which enables cars to stop there with minimal interference to traffic. The front door to the house is on Gothelfstr. residential street.

There is an unsolicited business card from someone with a station wagon, seemingly Stefan Holstein. The card's business information includes: Stefan Holstein, Innendesign, Hausbaeker Weg, email KA7435-930ATonline.de, phone 0441 3792636, mobile phone 0176 21886329. The "30" part of the user name of the email address seems to have been handwritten. The card seems to have been printed with a gap in the email address to allow the last part of the user name to be written in. By the way, we are under the impression that email addresses with such user names [namely: many digits, few letters] have two traits: some spammers don't send spam to such addresses, email from such addresses is blocked by some spam filters. The user name on a business card usually is easy for customers to type; for example, "info" or "Holstein123", not "KA7435-930". Most business cards are black print on a white background. This one has neither black print nor a white background. On front and back of the card, there is a colored background which includes relatively large, extravagant pictures of balls and swirling lines.
The complete street address on the card includes a street number, not just a street name. We could not find that street address.
There was an arbitration case involving a domain name. The case was WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, ARBITRATION AWARD, [case name] Keukenconcurrent Nederland B.V. v. Daniel Fuehrer, Case No. WIPO2007NL6. According to the arbitration award, the case involved defendant Daniel Fuehrer, who has address Gustav Heinemannstrasse 15a, 35440 Linden, Germany.
